Britannia Maritime will help strengthen global peace, security
and governance; strengthen resilience and crisis response
initiatives; combat ocean pollution; promote global prosperity;
tackle extreme poverty and help some of the world’s most
vulnerable people.
Under a long-term government charter or contract, commercially built, financed and owned
ships will provide an effective and regular means of directly delivering humanitarian aid and
skills training on a year-round basis to UK overseas territories and Commonwealth countries,
and when required, to provide direct, fast, and cost-effective emergency response to disaster
hit islands and coastal communities.

Their deployment will free up stretched RFA and RN resources. The ships will be capable of
trading commercially with full RoRo freight and passenger capability, including ‘eco’ cruise
passengers. Being equipped for overside working and operating aerial, surface and sub-sea
drones, they can engage in ocean advocacy and hydrographic activities.
